Congrats to our very own Kevin, owner of Wicked Thunder in Lenoir, NC for placing first in the Novice Group at the Coyote Creek Trials Center!

CoyoteCreekTrials-1stPlace

In this episode, we have Kevin and his fan club: Brendan, Jason, and me.

Just a bit ago, someone decided to build a pond on their private property.  In doing so, they displaced a lot of dirt and rocks and the Coyote Creek Trials Center was born.

I’ve never seen motorcycle trials riding in real life before so this was a big treat.  I caught some different folks on video.  Depending on their skill levels, they had different lines and markers to follow.  This first area is called the pits and it’s worth watching the video to see how amazing this is.

There were nine stations and each competitor had to run the course three times.  Bob and Kevin (below) chose to do the entire course one time and then go back and double up on each station.  Then Kevin goes all Captain Morgan on us : )

It was really neat watching all of the trials bikers rolling all around the property.  They were moving along through the stations at their own pace so you had to beware of bikers everywhere.

Although everyone who even attempts to ride the trials bikes are amazing, these two reigning champions really stood out: Ronnie Commo Jr. and Karl Davis Jr.

Brendan couldn’t resist the two wheel bug so he rode his WR down to the event.  He uses his ninja skills to strategically hide his bike behind the tree.  I bet you can’t even see it.

Unfortunately, I didn’t catch Kevin riding through the more difficult stations but I did catch him at this one place.

Can you spot the difference in these two photos?  Brendan decided to join us in one.

One of the stations had huge logs and it was really amazing to see the bikes pop over them.  One guy on a Montessa rode really well although he did take a little spill over a very challenging log.

Here we have our own gangsta J and Duane chats with Brendan.

The caterers were Hog Wild complete with a Confederate Flag.

Once again, the Antirider Rider found yet another incredible aspect of the two wheeled world.  Trials bikers show extreme control, skill, and focus to do this but above all, they’re having fun on two wheels!
