The Plaza Midwood Chili Cook Off was an absolutely delicious experience!

Despite the lack of GPS and my cut off printed map, I still managed to navigate the group with one wheel per person.

I like this lady’s chili pepper glasses.  Believe it or not, her chili was special for dogs only.

Rae and Mark discuss their latest chili choices.

Every booth had a big pot of chili to sample.

I really like these chili decorations.

This booth had a road kill theme which I’m not sure is the most appetizing thing but I guess it works for them.

My family is from the other Utica.  Who knew there were so many?

There are so many things wrong with this photo:

1. What in the world is Asian chili?

2. Could the lady have worn a more cliché outfit?

3. Why did that tall dude have to photo bomb my pic?

Goose, owner of MMR is the brain child behind this great charity event.

For those who don’t know what MMR is, check out the shop below.  His place is a common stop on poker runs.

Today was not a Styrofoam cup day as I toted a water bottle around and drank gobs of water.  Some chili’s were very spicy and set my tongue and throat on fire!

One gently sloping hill + some old cardboard boxes = good old fashioned fun

I will definitely attend more chili cook offs after this awesome experience.  Who knew that you could get so full from eating tiny sample cups of chili?  I do believe my favorite was a vegetarian chili from the Common Market but for the record, I’m not a vegetarian!
