Through the fields we go…

December 24th, 2009

… laughing all the way although Jason doesn’t look too happy on the cooler.  Our adventures in Sparta continue.

Another tasty lunch is prepared while we hunker down in the snow.

Rae and Mark evaluate the status of the Jetta.

Mark shows us his amazing craftsmanship for a log cabin made to scale.

Nicky and Hayden are blending in.

Baa is not liking the snow but the quilt squares are purty!

Mark is kind enough to shovel a path for me to the garage.

It’s official.  This garage is an orphanage for the best toys.

The Duc needed some TLC so the fellas get to work.

First it gets tilted on the side.

Then it goes all the way down.  Duc down!  Duc down!

Bang bang bang with a hammer.  I hear some eye-talian engineering going on there.

In grain.  Out grain.  It just looks super cool.

The shop has beautiful lighting with tons of windows.  No wonder those marshmallow skewers came out so nice.

Since Baa can’t get to the grass, her feed is supplemented with corn.  Evidently, she is a herbivore and does not need protein.  Who knew?

Got black sneakers?

I’ll let our gracious hosts pick their favorite pic.

We bundle up for the snow.

Let the fun begin!

They’re off to a good start.

Then the snow plow comes to help… a little.

Pushing doesn’t work so now it’s time to pull.

The Jetta needs a little loving from the little Jeep that could.  After quite the rigamaroll, the Expedition pulls the Jetta free!

Ducati owners are proud folks.

Downtown Sparta is lit up.

As if pulling the Jetta out isn’t enough, the good Samaritans pull out yet another stranded motorist.

Mark chauffeurs us around for a tour.

We check out this very cool bed and breakfast with some underground railroad connections.

Special just for me.

Jason puts on his thinking cap for some jibber jabber.  That or he’s making the same face as the constipated pepper.

Own it.

We enjoy a fine gift shop filled with knick knacks.

I support a small time Sparta shop with the purchase of my Fuzzy Footie.  Evidently some folks (maybe in Germany and France?)  like Asians in fiberglass leg casts.

More shots nice enough to make a puzzle… a very difficult filled with white snow puzzle.

As if pulling out two vehicles isn’t enough, we go for a third.

Baa ventures out to say goodbye.

Our host bids us a farewell as warm as our original welcome.  Thanks again for a fantabulous vacation Sparta style!  Until next time!
