Since you can’t see this part of Charlotte without a plane ticket, let’s ooh and ahh.
The star of this entry is baby Ethan or as some call him, King Ethan.
Of course Kim had to get a fancy new camera to document (and blog) every moment of E’s life. Photo courtesy of E’s blog.
I remember when my cousins would go play tennis, have cookouts, and always be on the go. These days, they inform me that weekends are officially for home improvement and spending time with E. Here we have a big debate about patio lighting.
Gone are the days of slinging a tiny bag over your shoulder. Now, they must pack the house and drive the big SUV. It’s amazing what a role reversal life has given us
The big event is going to the TJ (what Duy calls it) flea market. Kim informs me it’s called swap meet here kind of like HOV and car pool lanes. I don’t think I’ll ever get this west coast lingo.
I determine that flea market / swap meet is the most random collection of people and things ever. Here we have birds for sale.
Nearby they are selling dried chilis.
Next you can buy some fish for your aquarium…
…or take your children on a pony ride.
In addition to regular birds, you can also buy a peacock. Too bad they didn’t have a mirror to entice it to fan it’s feathers out.
We have an auctioneer in Spanish.
Although I didn’t buy anything, Duy got me an authentic Mexican churro (not twisted like the ones at Costco) and a Spanish strawberry milk drink. I am immersed in the culture today!
Here is baby and Daddy and add Mommy too.
Thai food. Look at me eating more Thai food. I’m so adventurous.
I even order the Banana Bay special. At Banana Bay, all of the signs are in a different language. Wow!
