Blue steel strikes again!
Cameron and Chad load up the trailer
Carolina Adventure World has a nice welcome center with rocking chairs.
Unfortunately the grill isn’t open during the week so Todd puts together a meal of microwave eats.
I have a debate between shorts and long tights. I definitely need some summer socks. These wool Fox socks are way too hot!
We get to meet Donovan, Matt, and Patrick but just briefly.
Brendan is their fearless leader.
At the beginning of our excursion, we make a wrong turn and end up at a path far too challenging for my eternal beginner skills. When I see Chad dismount and walk his bike down, I realize I need to do the same. Thank goodness the XT weighs 240 and his TE is 260. No pigs here!
Cameron likes the saddle height which is a big draw for me as well.
Chad and I take a break from the big hill.
Cam and Chad scope out the trail on foot.
We make our way back to the parking lot and bathroom center for a break.
Here we cross paths again. Brendan flashes some weird hand gesture.
Bike rentals save the day so the fellas can all join in the fun!
Cameron takes a big spill for the day. Fortunately, the burm stops the quad from an untimely creek crossing. Cam goes back to do a reenactment.
Chad takes a tumble and then rolls around in the mud after. He says he understands why pigs do it now because it feels nice and cool.
Our paths cross again.
It is an amazing day as I did not have any falls! I believe the reconstructed front end by Mark makes a huge difference!
Todd and I leave our bikes with Brendan’s crew. Brendan is our official bike hauler and trailer expert. Thanks buddy!
All in all, my first time at Carolina Adventure World is great once we find our way on the paths. Even though the grill isn’t open, going on a weekday is the way to go with nice open trails and very little traffic.
