Reduce.
As the masses were unloading after the big move, I see exactly how much I need to reduce. I have three piles: sort, shred, toss. I buy a scanner / printer that has a duplex document feeder and set up my workstation.
I’ve been holding onto these papers for no reason. I never reference them and anything I feel worth keeping gets scanned and then shredded. Everything else is accessible online.
Not only does going paperless save a lot of space but hassle as well. Every piece of paper that comes into my home either needs to be scanned or tossed but very few papers are worth keeping.
Reuse.
Instead of buying new chairs for my dining table, I’m going to just reuse the barstools from the old place. Thanks to Brendan for sawing off the bottoms to make them fit just right.
Unless you look, most people don’t notice how low the second bracing is. It actually results in a much sturdier chair and you have a spot to prop up your feet (like on a barstool).
I finally have a place for all of my friends to sit: four sawed off barstools, one yard sale chair, and one rustic Pottery Barn bench. I love the fresh cut (or picked) flowers from my backyard.
Recycle.
This is for Chad and Brendan: I do recycle. Third time’s a charm, right?
