Day 2 starts out with meeting riders and getting autographs on posters.
I catch this matching butterfly.
Jason is off to collect more posters.
Jason doesn’t know who this guy is but wants his autograph anyway.
This lady is all business. She shows up with a white t-shirt and collects autographs all over.
Here we are with Eric Bostrom.
Here are two more people that J doesn’t remember but I guess are important enough at the time to stop for yet another poster.
Say cheese with Jake Zemke and Aaron Yates. I want to know what the photographer behind is capturing.
Josh Hayes and Josh Herrin
We get Larry Pegram to sign a poster for Mark.
I love stunt shows. It’s neat how they use the show girls as props.
We even have live music sponsored by Korbel champagne.
We missed the pit lane tour yesterday but catch it today.
I misunderstood and think we can walk the whole track. It turns out it is just the pit lane area.
There are still many colorful umbrellas and things to see.
Tommy Hayden is as cute as the rest of the Hayden brothers.
We even have Harley’s on the track now and the usual sport bikes.
Rain tires are neat how they channel the water.
This photo is to commemorate Rob.
Quite a few children attend the event and ooh and ahh over the bikes.
I love the uniformity of the California Superbike School machines.
Umm… that back tire is looking a little used and abused.
Dog days for sure
More bikes in action
Our seat is a popular spot for wrecks. This poor fella is one of many who blow the corner and appears to be riding at us.
Here you see him try to start his bike to get back on the track.
We enjoy the shade from the umbrella on the picnic blanket.
As J3 says, these are some of his future ex-girlfriends.
Josh Hayes goes on to win and gets a guitar for a prize. Ben Bostrom comes in second and Tommy Hayden is in third.
They’re ready to roll.
I love these toy haulers. These folks mean business.
Jason and I go to a new spot to watch.
It’s interesting to watch the Harley Davidson XR1200 spec class. Nose to tail is how they describe it.
The long stretch along the back.
As we leave Day 2 of the AMA races at VIR, I run across my next want (not need): a bike with a sidecar.
It’s always something.

I like the looks of the rain tire but I wonder how good it holds on dry road.
