BMW Ducati Motorcycles of Charlotte (MOC) is finally at home in their new spot at 731 Westinghouse Blvd. As you’re coming off the exit ramp from 77 South, you’ll see the big building straight ahead. After you’re done oohing and aahing the enormity of the new structure, turn right off the ramp and be prepared to make your first left into the gas station driveway which is shared with MOC.
The parking lot is smooth, flat, and roomy which is great for motorcycles.
Mark (and Gail not pictured) are the proud owners of this new location for selling and servicing BMW, Ducati, and Triumph in the greater Charlotte area.
For all of the Ducatistas, the bikes and apparel are plentiful.
If your gear doesn’t have to match your bike exactly, there is plenty of other good stuff to choose from.
Some areas are still in the unpacking stage.
The service area is now in it’s own fishbowl. You can watch the mechanics work on your bike through the glass.
Rich is making sure the showroom floor is nice and clean.
It’s neat to see the main floor from above.
I am surprised but glad to see that Jan from RUA is working here. We are in the Members Only area with free snacks, drinks, and all the billiards you can play. Mark’s vision is this will be a relaxed place for bike owners to congregate and socialize.
The balcony is a nice place to sit and watch the cars and bikes go by.
Mark and I take a self portrait.
I’m not sure what this beautiful glass room is slated to be but it’s fun to see traffic whizzing along I-77. For now it’s the home for a lot of colorful luggage.
There is significance to these photos. I just have to find it!
The elevator is big enough to move bikes upstairs.
Bob joins the sales team and gets in a Mark sandwich.
This is a long awaited day for the MOC team. As with many building and government situations, the CO kept getting delayed. Fortunately, it all worked out — better late than never!
The customers are shopping away.
What’s the best thing to have next to a motorcycle dealership? A gas station!
Deja vu.
Triumph makes a great showing with the big truck, flags, and tents.
The Triumph guys bring loads of bikes for demo rides.
Love this set up! Bikes on top and gear and supplies below.
The theme is keeping it classy: MOC offers free side stand plates that conveniently double as electrical covers.
It’s a nice surprise when mountain folks like Mark make a special trip to the flatlands for special moments in Charlotte history.
I still remember going to their original shop ten years ago and looking at the pretty bikes with spring loaded kickstands. The new shop is definitely going to increase the European bike market visibility here!
