If Perry gets to have one, I want one too.  Perry brokers the deal and I am the proud owner of a virtually antique Schwinn unicycle.

As you can tell, it has seen better days.  The seat is merely a dense foam with countless layers of duct tape to mount it to the metal seat pan.  Now its my turn to add another layer of duct tape.

The tire is cracked and dry rotted.  The wheel size looks a bit bigger than the 20″ I want but the seller insists it’s right.  Nope — 24″.  Buyer beware!

The mark of an American classic.

Chad is on the job blowing off the cobwebs.

Next  he tests if the tire will even hold air.  Surprisingly it does!

Here’s comes the liquid magic to free up the pedals – WD 40!

For the final test, he picks it up and gives the pedals a whirl.

Chad busts out the tools to adjust the seat height.  No quick releases on these old things!

Whenever you get  a new toy, you have to play with it as much as possible and then go show it off to your friends, like Brendan.

Evidently, Brendan grew up with one of these things although he never did learn how to ride it.  He gives it a very good college try.

Then returns to his regularly scheduled program.

Now Perry and I don’t have to share the unicycle anymore.  We have one for each of us!
