The old Acerbis bark busters have got to go.  After busting multiple levers last season, I realize these aren’t cutting it.

Step 1:Remove the old set.  The bar end inserts are quite difficult to remove as the metal on metal is close to seizing.

Step 2: Get the new Cycra bark busters out of the plastic packaging.

Step 3: Screw the black plastic bend guards and big plastic hand guards onto the metal frame.

Step 4: Decide which bar end insert to use.  I go with the smaller option since I’m running a 7/8 bar.

Step 5: Loosely attach everything on the handlebar to determine placement.

Step 6: Once everything is positioned correctly, tighten down all of the bolts.

Step 7: Repeat process for the other side.

I sure do hope the Cycra bark busters fare better on my Yamaha XT than the old Acerbis ones.  As you can tell, I’ve had to carry quite a few spares in the past.
