Jason opens the door to let in some sunshine on our beautiful first generation 1999 Suzuki SV 650.

Amazingly, this beast still fits on the front and rear stands.

The bar end is a little stuck and out comes the hammer to knock it off.

I work on pulling the controls off the handlebar.  It’s naked like our other SV’s.

My next task is to remove the front wheel.

Jason gets to work on the rear end.

Here comes that hammer business again.

Now all that’s left is the frame and motor.

I work on cutting off the chain with a Dremel.  No fancy chain breaker tool needed.

We prepare the motor for dropping.

Jason orders a special tool to release the motor from the frame.

Unfortunately, it turns out that we need some more special tools so before we can drop the motor, we have to get them.  The story continues…
