The nice thing about winter is all the delicious flavors it brings and if you’re wanting to experience some real winter weather, you should check out rentals in Edmonton.  I have a friend from a South American country whose company sent her to work in Canada.  She learned very quickly that she needed a new wardrobe.  She got a nice warm winter coat and told me that the Asians there would all wear these big puffy coats that came all the way down to her ankles.  Although I don’t consider NC to have the most severe winters, there are definitely times that I’m tempted to purchase one of those long coats.

It turns out that eggnog doesn’t have any nog in it at all!  Kenan adds a little extra sprinkle of nutmeg to the amazing eggnog drink that Russell fixes.

After some rich and delicious eggnog, Bes and Russell burn some calories by dancing.  It’s quite the show!

Another fun part of winter is the projects we do.  Last year’s project is theTrader Joe’s Really Big Gingerbread Man and this year is the Gingerbread House Kit.

The kit has all the parts of the house and even comes with the people and pets.

The icing is a mix with egg whites.  Initially Russell tries to whip them in the blender until I explain that he has to use a whisk!  He’s always looking for a better faster way to do things but something have to be done the old fashioned way :0

The finished product is a stunning house with a dog on the rooftop!

In with winter, out with the hair!

Bes has to trim the back and I take this photo as evidence of the straight line she cut.  She does a great job!
