It’s early Saturday morning but Bob doesn’t want to miss his pick of the fruits and veggies at the local Farmer’s Market.

I love this view of the Charlotte Farmer’s Market.  Vendors line the covered walkways with fresh fruit and veggies.  On the right side is a flower vendor.  I really want to get some fresh cut flowers except I’m afraid they will wilt in my car in this heat.

Bob and John make this a regular event.  It’s just as much about shopping as it is about evaluating the vending staff.  I find it interesting how their purchases are motivated less by the product and more by the seller.

John tests the blackberry juice and is sold on this natural treat.

I feast on my French bread, sharp cheddar cheese and fresh spinach.  I even get a chocolate croissant for later.  Maybe the farmer’s market isn’t so bad after all!

Julie’s crib is a showcase of all things modern and hip.

What is corn salsa?  It is canned mexicorn and one block of cream cheese with one stick of butter.  Is this a Paula Dean recipe?

After all these years, we are still two peas in a pod.  We have absolutely nothing in common except for each other!

I worry that I’m taking one of Julie’s last Jello shots until she opens her fridge and shows me this.

Yeah that’s right.  She’s holding a Tervis tumbler with an monogrammed J and a patriotic swizzle stick.  This is a fabulous hostess!

Is this really true?

You’ve heard of classic C stories but now you get to experience a classic C and Julie story.  A long time ago (I’m talking 6 – 8 years), I bought Julie this router for her birthday.  You can’t tell in the photo but there is still the original cellophane on the router.  Julie never used the router or even opened the box until now when she moved into her new crib.

She says this is a two part gift because:

1. I gave her the router
2. I set up the router (<– this is a very big technical feat for me!)

Julie is all smiles that she no longer has to sit huddled in the corner by the Ethernet cable.  She is wireless at last and free to move about the condo!

It’s a party of two: me and Julie for a while until the third guest, Greggy appears.  He stops in to get his hair did.

Joel arrives to enjoy a Jello shot with a tiny purple fork.

More guests start rolling in.

Greggy and Heather pose for the Japanese Tourist.

Beth and Rachelle

I can’t even make up a story to explain what is happening in this photo.  To help give you focus, notice that Julie is wearing new orange kicks from the Puma store at Southpark.

Joel AKA Captain Joel

The girls are all smiles.

Tosha poses with Kathleen

Beth and Heather have some laughs.

Love the orange kitchen that matches the orange shoes.

Joel learns quickly that seating is at a premium and stakes his claim on the comfy red chair.

Now Julie is interrogating her party guests while Krystal watches in disbelief.

This is another photo that I can’t explain.  Let’s say Beth is pretending to be riding a roller coaster and Julie is dancing.  Heather is just sitting in the audience.

Uh oh.  Someone is starting to run out of gas.

I’m still nursing my Tervis Tumbler but really enjoying the comfy deep Crate and Barrel couch.

Some late party goers show up.

Kay and Tosha are all smiles

The tank is on empty and the birthday girl is taking a little break.

Every year is a new adventure.  The moral of story is that no matter what year it is or which birthday we’re celebrating, Julie will always be older!  Happy birthday old gal!

Some stylists cut hair, others make art.  The shape is perfect [...]

It’s a good thing googles are on sale today.  I’d hate to run into a tree branch while riding off road and not have an internet search engine protecting my eyes.
