Well who do we have here?

Fran tells us that all runners are crazy : )

The local running group runs through the Center of the  Universe and spreads holiday cheer by handing out candy to babies – ahem – that’s like taking candy from strangers for small children!

Perry, Fran, and Parker

Like father, like son… oh wait, Parker is more like me… taking a nap!

Food is always fancier on white plates, right?

The house decides to do a family dinner and we feast on veggies burgers topped with guacamole and lettuce, sweet potato fries, lima beans, bakes beans, and corn.  The irony is that no one in this house is a vegetarian!

Bes brings the dessert and it’s goes right along with the fancy motif – variety cupcakes from the Polka Dot Bake Shop.

I put them on display.

Russell starts the divide.

We let the “plainest” cupcake go to smaller mouth and decide to divvy up the remaining five cupcakes amongst four people.  So how many cupcakes does each person get?

That’s right – we each get 5/4 cupcakes.  It’s my idea that we cut each cupcake into quarters so we end up with…

… exactly 1/4 of five different types of delicious cupcakes!  This blog brings you today’s math lesson as well.  I gotta admit I do miss solving some fourth order differential equations but in the end, this is the kind of math that matters : )

Who does this remind you of?  The house has some big laughs!

The energy efficient LED tree is a hit and the crazy cat and snowman agree!

Lenny + Container Store = good times… just like the rest of my life!

First walk on the greenway

First walk on the greenway

The greenway is a place for me to run, walk, ride bicycles, and on occasion make new friends.  Since moving, the south Charlotte greenways have been elusive to me.  I explore a new stretch of the south Charlotte greenway with Russell who has never been on a Charlotte greenway before.  He’s very interested in these wood carvings [...]

Russell preps the RV

Russell preps the RV

Russell preps the RV for it’s maiden voyage.  He assesses the sleeping situation and determines the front cab can fit a queen sized air mattress.  He tests out the length.  For once, I see the advantage of being vertically challenged – I can fit in smaller sleeping spaces.   The front passenger seat may need a little [...]
