Mark comes for a visit and makes his tasty margaritas. Kendra and Ben also pay us a visit. The roomies pose with Mark. We pose in the car on the way out. Dave is our friendly DD tonight and Ben and Russell opt for the outdoor seats as we head downtown. We end [...]
Remember those awesome chocolates that Tory made for my birthday? Here are the last few getting ready to walk the plank… to my tummy!
What else did my birthday bring? One of my best – yes the other half of the C-team – is an amazing gift giver! I am now the proud owner of a cassette tape converter. This contraption is exactly how it looks – a non-Sony brand walkman device that plugs into a USB port.
I’m using Garage Band to transfer the entire tape to a digital file and then cutting them up into individual tracks. The most interesting part of this process is actually listening back to some of my old performances. After countless years of being a classically trained violinist, let me tell you that some of that stuff we called “symphonic performances” sounds like killing cats. Whew! That stuff is rough and boy when we were playing it back in the day, we totally felt like we were awesome! Umm… yeah, I forgot how bad some of this could sound. Ignorance is bliss : )
Costco riders make custom t-shirts. I can totally see myself wanting to buy this shirt at a vintage t-shirt shop just because it says Costco and has a little motorcycle on it – complete with some crazy rake and center stand. That does remind me of how I never could get that center stand down for my old KZ440!
Louis Vuitton bag vs two colorful elephants. Ahh… a LV bag… in my dreams!
Switching gears – me and the roomies are always up to something.
We find these two strays – Dave and Russell at the house and drag them out for a night at the local brew spot.
When I say local brew spot, I really mean nationally franchised – very commercial – restaurant chain Taco Mac – oh and in one of the snootiest parts of town too – with all the beer drinkers.
Bes shows off her to-go foil bag.
After beer and wings, we switch over to burgers at the Red Robin. I lazily don’t take out the saturation in my post processing but if you couldn’t tell, it’s me and Russell.
Lenny poses with his new friend, the crazy stuffed cat. How many balloons will it take before the cat floats away?
Can you spot the beer lover in this photo?
If you have cassettes to convert, please send me an email! Once I’m done converting my tapes, I’m happy to pass along my device to the next yahoo who is still harboring cassette tapes ; )
Russell preps the RV for it’s maiden voyage. He assesses the sleeping situation and determines the front cab can fit a queen sized air mattress. He tests out the length. For once, I see the advantage of being vertically challenged – I can fit in smaller sleeping spaces.
The front passenger seat may need a little help. It is bolted in at a solid 90 degree angle. No poor posture for anyone in this seat!
Sleep location #2 – the sleeper sofa.
Once again, the length has to be tested.
He opts against the Costco memory foam mattress that I bought sight unseen and instead, wants to test out the mattress in person (still at Costco though).
Remember that mattress I bought? Well it didn’t come with a new boxspring and since Russell doesn’t need his in the RV, I inherit a brand new boxspring – yay!
Dave is doubtful that this queen mattress will fit but Mr. Science has measured this space very carefully and is sure it will work.
He’s right!
The blinds come down and the view outside will be no more.
The RV is like a home – it’s a never ending project! RM / RL – we’re back home safe and sound. Next time, y’all need to come here and stay at the house. We’ve also discovered the RV fits in my driveway : ) so you have options!
Domestic DayThe bushes are OUT OF CONTROL! So I don my Stihl shirt and pull out my Black and Decker hedgetrimmer. I start going to town! A little trim here and there… Bes is busy working up in the front yard. I’m still taming the bushes but there is much improvement. When [...] |
Stefan’s birthday bashKenan and James use their engineering skills to test out the Knork on pizzas. Bes decides to join the fun with some mini lint rolling. Russell leads the way. Modern, simple, and definitely for the young single folks making some decent coin. The rest of us just live in a big frat house by the [...] |

Vertical bicycle storageThis is how horizontal bicycle storage looks. Here is the blank canvas. The first bike goes up. Kenan inspects his work. I make the executive decision that the hanger needs to move closer into the wall so the bike wheels are closer to the wall. Kenan gets the third hanger up and voila! [...] |

Aristocrat Vodka is Alabama’s #1 SELLERThink Willie Nelson singing… On the road again… …just can’t wait to get on the road again… [insert my own lyrics] to a state where Aristocrat is the #1 selling Vodka! My insider printing press source (AKA Perry) says they make zillions of these labels so maybe it’s not just true for this state. Maybe that’s [...] |
