In 2011, for the first time, I:

* shot guns outside and at the range
* became a member of Discovery Place
* witnessed a wedding between two people that I introduced
* watched a roller derby game
* worked third shift at cell tower sites
* actually enjoyed a vacation in Charleston, SC
* started shopping with my hairdresser who has been doing my hair for over 12 years
* switched over to the Mac
* switched from Android to iOS iPhone
* did a triathlon
* went to an electronic dance music festival and learned the difference between DJs and bands
* started eating food off a Traeger Grill
* learned the true meaning of living in a frat house and having roommates that feel like family when we all sit down to dinner together
* helped host Thanksgiving in my way with my friends in my own home (guess I’m growing up!)
* fit seven people in the back of a small sedan and enjoyed every minute of it (maybe not growing up that much!)
* met someone to share my life with that may actually love Costco as much if not more than I do
* brought in the year while living in an RV by the beach

In 2012, I hope to at least double that list!  Happy new year to all my antirider friends!

Candy corn nails

Russell is camo-man.  I am 80′s girl.  Stefan is dressed as the magician Criss Angel.  I’ve never heard of this person but I guess this costume works for Stefan!

Margaux’s in Raleigh is always a festive place to be.

Spare no expense and leave no wall undecorated!

Gene joins the party with the pseudo gang signs.

Denny and Christina – Jason’s parents

Steve is always such an amazing host!

He even provides live music.

I still love this signage.

The magician and deer hunter enjoy some top notch food and service.

Do I look 80s or just mismatched?

This is the intended stop that never happens.

Creepy is seeing the turtle head sitting unattended.

Scary!

Gene goes bobbing for apples and gets a little assist into the apple barrel.

To match my nails…

Cheers!

I enjoy some spooktacular spirits that look like brains swimming around.

Look at those zombies dancing on the sign.

Bust out the Rumple Minz!  This is how the shot glasses look AFTER we take them: Stefan’s, C’s, Russell’s.

Gene is not happy with something.

Steve does another costume change.

Write your own caption.

The party starts to wind down as the boys ramp up!

Boo!

We migrate outside.

Russell polishes off a donut gifted to him before his trip.  Our night ends early as Russell drives off with Stefan still partially hanging out of the car with one foot on the ground.

We enjoy a lovely day after meal with Steve’s pick, the Saw Mill Tavern.  Restauranteurs always know the best places to eat!

On the way home, I stop for a little treat.  I’m chugging along when I notice that this PET Pumpkin Spice Nog has 200 calories.  I don’t think much of that number until I see that this tiny one pint bottle has FOUR servings.  You read that right – this little bottle has 800 calories!  Wowee!  I see why we’re only allowed to drink this stuff around the holidays!

Vertical bicycle storage

Vertical bicycle storage

This is how horizontal bicycle storage looks. Here is the blank canvas. The first bike goes up.  Kenan inspects his work. I make the executive decision that the hanger needs to move closer into the wall so the bike wheels are closer to the wall. Kenan gets the third hanger up and voila!     [...]

Lenny is so 2000 and late…

Trader Joe’s always has their own holiday knock off but they still taste yummy! Leonard has finally joined the ranks of the smart phone world.  He waited and waited and the iPhone 4s finally came to Verizon.  This happens right before I leave Verizon to have an iPhone on AT&T.  Blah!  Now, I’m in a [...]

Robots, pizza, and beer

Robots, pizza, and beer

Russell loves three things: robots, pizza, and beer.  Here we have a robot with a Shock Top beer box head – robot – check! Then we add pizza from the Mellow Mushroom – pizza – check! At Mellow Mushroom, you can choose to dine in part of a school bus. Then we add lots and [...]

Quick Trip on exit 75 on I-85 South

Russell says QuickTrips are taking the country by storm!  We have our closest one here on exit 75 on I-85 South near Greenville, SC. It’s so bright (and also some poor metering on my part) and cheery inside! The convenience store is well stocked. The workers are all so friendly and cheery! The grand opening [...]

Aristocrat Vodka is Alabama’s #1 SELLER

Aristocrat Vodka is Alabama’s #1 SELLER

Think Willie Nelson singing… On the road again… …just can’t wait to get on the road again… [insert my own lyrics] to a state where Aristocrat is the #1 selling Vodka!  My insider printing press source (AKA Perry) says they make zillions of these labels so maybe it’s not just true for this state.  Maybe that’s [...]

iEverything

iEverything

At some point, you have to make choices.  You’re either Windows or PC.  You’re Android or  iPhone. I am Windows and I have an Android.  The classic C story part is that I am also Mac and carry an iPhone.  For many months, you would see me reach into my purse and pull out BOTH [...]

Christmas gift of laughter

Christmas gift of laughter

This picture may not mean much but it is such a source of laughter and lots of enjoyment!  Dave comes for a visit and I see the cars are kind of close so I say, well I don’t think I’ll park between.  Usually we drive all through the grass and leap frog each other’s car [...]

Russell gets a new Traeger Grill from Costco

Russell gets a new Traeger Grill from Costco

It’s like Christmas… oh wait, it IS Christmas Eve… but not really… when Russell gets his new Traeger Grill from Costco.   Even though it’s dark out, he can’t wait until the next day so he sets up the outdoor lights and puts on his headlamp to get to work assembling. He’s already got the [...]

Feelin’ Good in Greenville, SC

Feelin’ Good in Greenville, SC

We score some rock star street parking. The bridge to the festival is actually pretty cool. Kids are playing on the rocks. We get to the festival and see the lines for tickets.    This cross bicycle-scooter-elliptical deal is intriguing.  Unfortunately, we never witness anyone testing it out.   I find it strange that a [...]

www.antirider.com is branded on a Mac

The blue geeks unite at the annual South-Tec show in Charlotte. Zeiss makes optics, lenses, and well some other random stuff… like coordinate measuring machines.    The neat thing about trade shows is freebies.  I run across Jerry VanderLann with Visual Workplace and he is selling this very cool mobile sign shop cart.   After [...]

Bonfire part 2

Bonfire part 2

We enjoy the bonfire so much, we do a part 2.  Kenan brings out my old shoeboxes to breathe life back into the bonfire. We have experienced camper Rick on hand who quickly builds a new fire. Russell and I chill with Bes by the fire.  Today’s chair is the ottoman flavor. Seabrooks and Rick [...]
